Adobe Lightroom Classic Masking Tools 3-30-2024

March 30 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Bud Ogle cabin, Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The above image uses 4 individual masks.

Adobe has recently ramped up the capability of this already powerful editing tool by adding AI and machine learning to the Masking Tools and adding several new ways to apply a mask to an image. For many people these new tools will decrease the photographers reliance on Photoshop to apply masks and edit local areas of an image. In this class we’ll start with a review of, and changes made to, the long time masking tools such as the Linear Gradient mask, The Radial Gradient mask and the Adjustment Brush. We’ll then dive deeply into the new Masking tools, how to apply them and how to make adjustments with them. The image above has had four individual masks applied.

This class is based on and intended for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic -OR- Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. Either version is appropriate for this class.

This four hour class will be offered twice on the same day. It is NOT necessary to take both classes, they are exactly the same. You may choose from two time periods, 8:00am to Noon, or 1:00pm to 5:00pm, whichever fits your schedule best.

You will need a laptop computer with Adobe Lightroom Classic or Adobe Lightroom installed and running.

This is an Intermediate level class and we will not be covering the basics in Lightroom or Lightroom Classic. Please make sure you are comfortable using either application. If you are not, please look into our Introduction to Adobe Lightroom Classic or Introduction to Adobe Lightroom class before registering for this class.
